One of the highlights of my spiritual journey have been the exploration of the healing power of quartz sound bowls. Not everyone realizes that each bowl is carefully tuned to a musical note, and that is not by coincidence. There is a powerful reason behind that: music is medicine. In other words, music heals.
Being a scientist, my spiritual journey has been backed up by scientific reasoning behind our healing methods. Sound healing has been practiced for centuries as a holistic approach to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, and science has proof what healers knew centuries ago.
Among the various tools used in this practice, quartz sound healing bowls take a special place in my heart, for their unique ability to resonate with the body’s energy centers, known as chakras. In this article, I will share all the information I have gathered along the years, about the connection between musical notes produced by quartz sound bowls and their corresponding chakras, delving into the reasons behind this harmonious relationship.
First, we gotta understand exactly what we mean by Chakras: Chakras are subtle energy centers located along the spine, each associated with specific physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of our being. There are seven main chakras, and they are often depicted as spinning wheels of energy. I am a living proof that to maintain balance and vitality, it is essential for these energy centers to be in harmony. The moment one of them is not, our life feels out of whack.
Quartz Sound Bowls, made from pure quartz crystal, produce distinct musical notes when struck or played. Each of these notes aligns with a specific chakra, creating a resonance that is believed to balance and restore the energy flow within the body, and this is their relationship:

Root Chakra (C Note): The lowest note produced by quartz bowls, the C note, resonates with the Root Chakra. This chakra is associated with grounding, stability, and a sense of security. The vibrational frequency of the C note is believed to help anchor and stabilize the energy in the base of the spine.

Sacral Chakra (D Note): Moving up the scale, the D note corresponds to the Sacral Chakra. This chakra is linked to creativity, passion, sensuality and emotional balance. The vibrational energy of the D note is thought to enhance the flow of creativity and emotional expression.

Solar plexus (E Note): The E note aligns with the Solar Plexus Chakra, which governs personal power, confidence, and self-esteem. Playing the E note on a quartz sound bowl is believed to stimulate and balance the energy associated with this chakra.

Heart Chakra (F Note): The F note resonates with the Heart Chakra, symbolizing love, compassion, and connection. Sound healing using the F note is thought to promote emotional healing, fostering love and harmony within oneself and with others.

Throat Chakra (G Note): The G note corresponds to the Throat Chakra, associated with communication, self-expression, and truth. Using quartz sound bowls to produce the G note is believed to support clear and authentic communication.

Third Eye Chakra (A Note): The A note aligns with the Third Eye Chakra, connected to intuition, perception, and spiritual insight. The vibrational frequency of the A note is thought to enhance awareness and deepen spiritual practices.
The third eye is associated with intuition, inner knowing, and spiritual insight. By connecting to the third eye, individuals hope to access their innate wisdom, develop heightened intuition, and gain deeper insights into themselves and the world around them. At the outset of my Tarot journey, my readings were guided primarily by the symbolism on the cards and a basic understanding of traditional interpretations. While this provided a solid foundation, I felt an intrinsic longing to go beyond the surface and delve into the subtle realms that lie at the heart of intuitive insights. The turning point occurred when I began consciously working on opening and activating my third eye. Through consistent meditation and visualization practices, I found myself entering a realm where intuition seamlessly intertwined with the imagery on the cards.
The third eye, often referred to as the ‘eye of the soul,’ became a guiding light in my Tarot practice. It offered a panoramic view of the querent’s spiritual journey, shedding light on underlying patterns, hidden motivations, and the potential for growth and transformation. The intuitive nudges I received while in this state of connection led to more profound, meaningful readings that resonated profoundly with those seeking guidance.

Crown Chakra (B Note): The highest note produced by quartz bowls, often the B note, resonates with the Crown Chakra. This chakra is associated with higher consciousness, spiritual connection, and enlightenment. The B note is believed to facilitate a sense of unity and spiritual awakening.
By understanding the correspondence between specific musical notes and chakras, you can incorporate these harmonic frequencies into your sound healing practices, promoting overall well-being and a harmonious flow of energy throughout the body and mind.
The science behind sound healing
Sound healing operates on the principles of vibrational therapy, harnessing the power of sound frequencies to impact the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of an individual. While the scientific understanding of sound healing is still evolving, several theories explain its effectiveness.
- Resonance and Frequency:
- Resonance: Every object has a natural frequency at which it vibrates. When exposed to external frequencies, if they match the object’s natural frequency, resonance occurs. In the context of sound healing, the body’s tissues, cells, and organs have their own resonant frequencies. The vibrations from sound therapy may interact with these frequencies, promoting balance and harmony.
- Frequency Impact: Different frequencies can affect the body in various ways. Low-frequency sounds are thought to promote relaxation and reduce stress, while higher frequencies may stimulate and invigorate. The specific frequencies used in sound healing practices can target desired physiological and psychological responses.
- Brainwave Entrainment:
- Sound has the ability to influence brainwave patterns through a phenomenon known as entrainment. Entrainment occurs when external stimuli, such as rhythmic sounds, synchronize the brain’s electrical activity. This synchronization is believed to induce altered states of consciousness, promoting relaxation, focus, or heightened awareness.
- Stress Reduction and Relaxation:
- Sound healing has been shown to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for the body’s “rest and digest” response. This activation helps reduce stress, lower heart rate, and promote a sense of calm. The soothing nature of certain sounds can contribute to relaxation and stress relief.
- Release of Neurotransmitters:
- Listening to specific frequencies and tones may trigger the release of neurotransmitters, such as endorphins and dopamine. These chemicals play a crucial role in mood regulation, pain perception, and overall well-being. Sound healing practices aim to promote the release of these beneficial neurotransmitters. Additionally, the mind-body connection is a fundamental aspect of holistic healing, and sound therapy often incorporates mindfulness and intention-setting.
- Cellular Resonance and Healing:
- At the cellular level, sound vibrations influence cell structure and function. Specific frequencies promote cellular repair, regeneration, and overall healing.
In my retreats, I delve into the world of sound healing using mostly quartz bowls carefully tuned into the notes that vibrate with each human chakra centre. Participant find sound healing to be a valuable complement to conventional wellness practices, emphasizing the interconnectedness of physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
I would love to hear about your experience with quartz bowls, tapping into the power of sound healing.
