How does refunds work?
This event is a non-refundable package. The reason is, this entails airline flights and hotel reservations that cannot be canceled. Organizers will confirm that you understand the non-refundable policy associated with this purchase before completing the reservation.
Having said this, there is an option for participants to purchase travel interruption insurance (offered directly by the airline) that allows participants to cancel their flight, hotel and accommodation until 3 hours before the flight date/time, but this is an additional cost and up to travelers preference – current prices are $70 but subject to change by the airline (contact the organizers to confirm details related to this option).
Participants will be responsible for purchasing their own medical travel insurance, if they wish to, but organizers will not be responsible for this. We highly encourage participants to purchase travel insurance, in case a medical situation arises when traveling.
In addition to above all inclusive price, are there any hidden fees?
No. Following your purchase of your retreat package (including all that is mentioned in the question above), there are no any other hidden or additional fees. The retreat price will include all the travelling / transfer / accommodations / food / drinks and retreat events in the program. There are no workshops part of this program that will ask you to pay for additional fees.
- Personal Tours or Gifts: However, if participants wish to engage on personalized tours while they travel, or wish to buy local arts and crafts those are, of course, expenses that participants would need to pay for, directly to their service providers.
- Tips: It is common practice to tip hotel staff, including room cleaners, bar tenders, waitress, drivers. Generally a tip of a dollar coin or “toonie” is ideal, so you may wish to bring Canadian dollar change with you for tipping, but against, this is optional and aligned to your personal preferences.
- Insurance: Travel or medical travel insurance is not included in this package, so if participants do not have personal international travel insurance (as part of their work office, for example), they are highly encouraged to purchase medical insurance for the duration of their trip. These insurance should be purchased directly with Insurance Companies of travelers preferences, as event organizers will not be involved with these purchases.
- Carry-on bag: Check in luggage (up to 23 Kg) and a personal item (backpack) in both flights are included with your retreat purchase. However, carry-on bags are not included and the airline charges $25 each way for your carry-on.
Are there any discounts for double occupancy?
Yes. Prices for this retreat are for single occupancy (meaning, participants paying retreat price get their own room). However, for participants wishing to share a room there are a couple of ways of saving:
- Sharing a room with another participant: Whereby both people occupying a room are taking part of the retreat, there is an incentive of $100 off per participant.
- Sharing a room with a non-participant: If you are sharing a room with a non-participant (for example, you are bringing a friend, spouse, etc… that is not taking part of the retreat), the non-participant will be offered a $300 discount from the total price.
Please contact the organizers to discuss occupancy requirements so your hotel booking is arranged reflecting your needs.
Can I fly from another city?
Please contact the organizers to find out if flights (and similar packages) are available from other cities within Canada. This retreat is not available for flying from anywhere outside Canada and group prices are for Ottawa departures only.
What area and hotel we’ll be staying at?
This event takes place in coordination the international hotel chain (Blue Diamond), who recently introduced their latest hospitality concept in the region: Resonance Hotels. These hotel are a revolutionary adults-only all-inclusive brand tailored for travelers seeking extraordinary experiences, offering two distinct realms within its resorts– Resonance Blu and Resonance Musique, catering to tranquility seekers and those in search of vibrant energy, respectively.

The company launched eight Resonance Hotels on December 1st, 2024, situated in Varadero, Cayo Santa María, Santa Lucia, and Marea del Portillo, each destination will feature both a Resonance Blu and a Resonance Musique hotel.
We will be honored to host this Wellness Retreat at the Resonance hotels in Cayo Santa María.
What is Cayo Santa María?
Nestled off the northern coast of Cuba, Cayo Santa Maria is a tropical paradise renowned for its breathtaking white-sand beaches and crystalline turquoise waters. This idyllic key is connected to the mainland by a scenic causeway, making it both accessible and wonderfully secluded—a perfect sanctuary for a wellness or spiritual retreat.

The beaches of Cayo Santa Maria stretch for miles, offering visitors vast expanses of untouched coastline where tranquility reigns. The powdery sand is soft and inviting, while the gentle waves create a serene soundtrack to soothe the mind and spirit. The area’s natural beauty is complemented by lush vegetation and vibrant marine life, creating an inspiring backdrop for yoga sessions, meditation, and reflective walks.
Seclusion is a hallmark of Cayo Santa Maria. Unlike busier tourist destinations, these beaches retain a sense of untouched serenity, allowing guests to disconnect from the pressures of daily life and reconnect with themselves and nature. Sunrises and sunsets paint the sky with spectacular hues, providing moments of quiet wonder perfect for contemplation and spiritual renewal.
Beyond the beaches, the island boasts ecological reserves and nature trails, making it a haven for those seeking balance between rejuvenation and exploration. Whether you’re basking under the warm Caribbean sun, practicing mindful breathing by the water, or simply enjoying the harmonious rhythm of the sea, Cayo Santa Maria offers an unmatched setting for personal transformation and well-being.
Will the hotel offer vegetarian food options?
Yes. Participants will have access to vegetarian options as part of the hotel’s daily buffet offerings. Organizers will ask participants about their food requirements and will pass this along to hotel chefs. They will make every effort to craft menus for those participants that are designed to cater for vegetarian and also vegan participants. These menus generally include a variety of fresh vegetables, fruits, grains, salads, and plant-based dishes thoughtfully prepared to support health-conscious diets.
Having said this, it is essential to note that Cuba is currently experiencing food shortages, which may impact the availability and variety of some ingredients and food items. So, to ensure participants have access to foods that align with their dietary preferences, we encourage them to bring their favorite snacks and specialty items from their home location. Particularly for vegan participants, it is encouraged that they bring their protein powders, specialty vitamins, nuts and other essential foods, because those products are rare in Cuba. Packing these will help guarantee a nourishing and satisfying experience during the retreat while maintaining dietary choices that support overall well-being.
For non-vegetarian participants food choices will include eggs and sausages during breakfast and meet options (both, cooked and ready to grill).
